The Jolly Sailor Inn

A white hare, believed to be connected to the suicide of a young lady, runs from the hill at Talland to the Jolly Sailor where it vanishes. A coachman with long hair and a ruffled shirt has also been seen.

Update 17/8/22: I contacted the inn asking about any recent phenomena and they sent a link to their own website, which details many recent stories. These include the sound of a cough, coming from a man probably in his 60s, outside in the corridor by the toilets; this man is said to frequent the ladies toilets and as a result, some locals will no longer use those facilities! The landlady awoke in her office to find a woman in her 60s stood over her; the figure soon vanished. A tap turned on by itself spraying water everywhere, the ghosts earning a rebuke from the landlord. In the kitchen there is said to be a lot of unexplained activity; the hot tap in the wash basin keeps turning on, windows open by themselves, people have felt touched and voices have been heard, and a blonde curly haired boy or girl seen. A figure has also been seen just outside the area too. Incidents also include moving keys, shattering glasses, chairs moving and being heard to move, touches on the back, other odd noises and lights flickering while phenomena is said to occur in all the bed and breakfast rooms, including a woman who felt someone get into bed with her, and another guest who said their phone and pen "flipped off" the desk by themselves. In the bar area, CCTV has caught a pair of tongs on top of a cabinet being thrown off, rather than falling; and footage of a pair of doors that despite being closed and locked, opened by themselves.

Update 10/4/24: The inn replied to my query about any recent phenomena: "We regularly experience movements, noises and strange actions. Most staff members will tell you a story. Tapping on shoulders, dripping water, taps turned on, locks turning, doors slamming, chairs scraping etc etc"
