The Finnygook Inn

Known as "Finny," Silas Finn was an old Cornish smuggler and wrecker some three centuries ago. He used the inn as his base of operations, with his spoils stored in tunnels below but one day, the catacombs collapsed and he perished. His ghost is described as a bearded misty figure, wearing seafaring attire and boots at the bar, and who vanishes when approached. His ghost is also said to be seen at the cliffs of Portwrinkle and Crafthole, where he betrayed his smuggling comrades to the authorities in return for his own leniency, and an alternative version of his fate is that when his old gang returned from overseas exile, they hanged him and threw him down the well. Incidentally, "gook" is an old Cornish word for ghost.
