Market Inn

The ghost of Elizabeth Lord, who was the landlady for 43 years until her death in 1903, has been seen and felt wandering around the corridors and living quarters upstairs; Mother Payne Muriel, another former landlady is also said to haunt the inn. Tobacco, or pipe smoke has been detected in the pub. Additionally, beer has been poured "wrong", light bulbs have blown, broken glasses have been found behind the bar in the morning, and items have been moved in the kitchen and bowls thrown on to the floor - on occasion, at the head of a visiting Environmental Health Officer! Another phantom, nicknamed "Sam", likes to pinch the backside of ladies in the cellar and has been known to play tricks in the pub.
Update 3/9/20: Pub worker James Thompson emailed to say, "Sorry there hasn’t been anything since I’ve been here but there are a lot of old stories about people seeing things but then again it is a pub"
