The Old Church House Inn

A monk was seen seated in the bar by a visitor sleeping in the bar; another guest also saw a similar figure in the lounge. According to one newspaper account, "A new policeman once came into the inn one evening to meet the locals. After introductions were made, he asked the landlord who the 'quiet old man was', only to be told that there was nobody sitting there." The owners saw a man leaning over their baby's cot; when they followed him downstairs, the pub was empty, and all the doors were locked. There are also stories of phantoms in the bedrooms, said to be tall, bald and dressed in black, usually seen standing at the end of the bed. A disembodied arm pointing towards the church, loud bangs, doors slamming and crashing noises have also been reported, too.
