John Stephens Grave

A granite pillar in this area, marked with an "S", is said to be the grave of John (or George) Stephens. He is said to have either died of a broken heart or to have killed himself with a poisoned apple when his loved one was unfaithful. There are a few versions of this tale, including one in which he also poisoned his fiancee. Stephens' ghost is said to manifest as a skeletal figure wearing a shabby, dark grey cloak.
