Cowick Barton Inn
121 Cowick Lane, Exeter, Devon EX2 9HF
01392 925845
A bell used to alert staff that food was ready to be delivered has fallen violently from the shelf; one time, it was so hot, it burnt the barman's hand when he picked it up. A clock in the bar has also flown across the room; a picture that was placed there was also flung off the wall - the shelf is now empty! Shadow have also been seen in the bar area, and there is also a cold spot nearby (there is also such a zone in the ladies toilets and the corridor to the monk's room). In the restaurant, a figure in long white robes has been seen - some reports say that he is observing the layout. The monk's room, used for storage, elicited a violent reaction from the pub's dog; also in this room, a figure in long robes has been seen and scraping noises heard - on investigation, a table had been moved from its original position. In the attic, a monk was seen where bones were soon after found under the floorboards. Running footsteps have been heard coming from this area, too. Outside the inn, a distraught lady in a long velvet dress has been observed - and there are also stories of spectral monks; a priory's graveyard, before being moved, was less than 20 metres of the inn.
Update: 27/7/20 Louie Davies of the inn informs me, "I have lived here for the past three years and can report nothing at all."
