Penfound Manor

The ghost of Arthur Penfound, his daughter Kate and neighbour John Trebarfoot are said to haunt this building. During the Civil War, the Penfounds supported the King and Trebarfoot gave his allegiance to Parliament. Kate wanted to elope with John but Arthur forbade their relationship and discovered them as they tried to slip away, shooting them both in the courtyard below Kate's bedroom window. The 26th April is the anniversary of the murder, and the trio are said to walk the manor.
