Shute Barton House

A Grey, or White Lady has been seen walking in the house and grounds, and disappears swiftly when approached. It is said she is Lady Jane Grey, or perhaps a spectral member of the Pole-Carew family who still live there; or even yet, she may be a Royalist supporter who was pounced upon by a mob and hung from a tree. A phantom white cat has also been seen in the grounds, and is mistaken for a normal feline (although some describe it as transparent) until it walks through something.
