Tyrells Lane

The silent ghost of Sir Walter Tyrell on horseback has been seen fleeing down this lane; Tyrell was convinced that his wayward arrow had accidentally killed King Rufus and he took this route to escape to Poole and then across to Normandy; some suspect that Walter's brother Henry had actually fired the fatal shot. Further confusion surrounds the aftermath as it is claimed by some that Rufus is the ghost!
