Original White Hart

A lady in a grey dress, identified as a chambermaid, is reported to be seen here usually on the staircase and also at the back of the hotel, near the kitchens and in the function room. The ghost is obsessed with keeping things tidy (even putting away workmen's tools when they are distracted) and might be reponsible for a wayward door that keeps closing by itself. It is reputed that, "To ward off this supernatural presence an exorcism was performed in the 1960s, leaving behind a cross carved into the wall beside the stairs." It isn't clear whether this ceremony was 100% successful.

Update 9/1/24: Bryan Hatton, the General Manager informed me, "I'm new here but there is apparently a ghost here called Molly, I have however never experienced anything but if you book a stay request room 8 as thats where she resides according to the stories."
