The Bush Inn

A "salty, old-fashioned" character has been seen here, who retreats through the wall; shadowy figures have also been seen too. Ghostly footsteps and knocking sounds (on a door that no longer exists) have also been heard too. There are two more ghosts here too, but one (or both?) might be the first of the phantoms mentioned above: an "elderly seafaring man" has been seen seated on a bed upstairs, while another, more frequently reported, ghost is that of a sailor walking around near the staircase.

A 2025 newspaper article quotes members of the pub staff on their repertoire of spectres; "We have three ghosts; the lady on the stairs, the fisherman in the upstairs bedroom and the smuggler who lifts the front door latch up and down trying to get out."
