Sherborne Castle

The Castle was once the home of Sir Walter Raleigh but when his influence at the Royal Court finished when Elizabeth I died, her successor, King James had him executed. His ghost is said to haunt the ground, especially near a seat that bears his name, and is said to be especially active at around the anniversary of his execution on October 29th. A ghostly child and spectral horses are also said to be the phantom incumbents here.

Update 22/8/21: Castle staffmember Maria Wingfield Digby informs me, "I am pleased to say that we have had no reported incidents of inexplicable phenomena here."
