The Hyde Tavern

An old woman who was refused lodging in the tavern and froze to death in the cold weather has returned to the building as a phantom. Since then, cold guests would wake up to find their bedclothes pulled off them and heaped on the floor; it is not clear if this phenomena has been reported recently. In the main part of the pub, a voice calls for service - but there is no-one there; and patrons have reported a frozen hand on the shoulder. On one occasion, an old lady was seen to leave the pub early in the morning and fell into the road. A lorry passed over the body - but there was no longer anything there.

Update 7/12/21: The pub responded to my Facebook query for recent events: "2 glasses if beer suddenly exploded about 7 years ago but nothing else."
