Seeking information on the Canterbury branch of Closs and Hamblin, I contacted the head office via Facebook and was told instead, "I have asked around but as we are the head office not many have been to the Canterbury branch itself ... However, one of us here used to work at the Tunbridge Wells branch and the staff believe it is haunted. My colleague who used to work there told me she often felt a presence in the basement and heard voices and described that she felt someone touch her shoulder a few times, she even said the staff knew the name of the ghost but has since forgotten it." Since this communication, new owners have taken over the site. Whether anything has happened in the building's current guise is not known at present.
