Rose and Crown

It is claimed that there are 6 ghosts here, including a labrador in the upstairs rooms that people only ever glimpse; when they try to follow it, it is nowhere to be seen although the sound of a dog gnawing on a bone has been noted. Items have been found moved (or in the case of a paint brush that was flipped off a paint can, actually seen to move), footsteps (presumed to be from a running child) have been heard, doors open and close, dark shadows seen and "strange noises" heard. In the cellar, "Billy" (or "George"??) is blamed for gas taps being turned off and for perturbing dogs sufficiently that they do not like to venure into this area. "Fred" haunts the restaurant and turns the lights on, moves chairs about and turns the vacuum cleaner off.
