Waverley Abbey

The white-robed Cistercian monks have been seen amongst the ruins at dusk and their chanting heard; one of the spectres is wearing the red gown of a cardinal and is reputed to have been tortuted to death by men seeking a treasure that he was supposed to have hidden somewhere. A White Lady has also been seen infrequently too.
