When these buildings were "The King Charles Parlour" pub, the ghost of a cavalier was seen on the stairs (later embellishments claim that this is where he was killed), and people felt the sensation of someone brushing by in the hallway. There was also the sound of a harpsichord being played. Since the pub closed, companies that have moved in have experienced odd incidents. The conjoined property (No.6) has had incidents of moving shadows, and people hearing strange whisperings in the ear, sometimes saying the person's own name. The second floor back room and anywhere on the top floor were the worst afflicted areas. An employee said that she and a colleague followed a lady into a room on the 2nd floor only to find that she was no longer there. A child's customer asked about a man in a big hat who had been walking down the stairs. Items would fly off the shelves, and staff would find things moved overnight when they opened up in the morning.
