Guildford Castle

A number of phantoms 'inhabit' this castle: a spectral woman on the staircase in the keep, a Victorian lady in the grounds, and a man chained to a wall; he is seen usually once a year in the autumn. There was even a report of a lady in Victorian dress seen atop the motte by a staff member who had just locked up the building for the night. When he ascended the building to confront the intruder, she was nowhere to be seen.
