A former employee who lived upstairs heard the sound of someone making a coffee downstairs during the night but upon investigation, there was no-one there; he locked the door to his room as he was so scared! Another time, a barmaid saw a figure standing at the bar and "went white". Someone asked him to describe the figure and when he returned to the establishment, he brought back a photograph of the old landlord which matched the description. The landlord had died at the pub and the barmaid did not know of him previously. Other reports include a figure in an upper floor window, in a room which is unoccupied; and a regular seeing a figure in white behind the current landlady. The witness was so alarmed that he left the building immediately. He later said that the figure was sat on a barstool behind the landlandy and was "as clear as anything."
