The Queens Oak

Two ghosts are said to appear here; an old lady with grey hair seen in the old cottage part of the pub rocking in a chair, sometimes accompanied by a small child. Brakspear (who run the pub) says that, "The old woman [described as friendly] sits at what used to be her regular spot at the bar when she was alive, smiling at patrons and the proprietor before disappearing abruptly into thin air." There have also been other phenomena, such as cold spots, shadow figures, loud banging, objects being thrown and the "Last orders" bell heard rung by people in the accommodation area after hours. Additionally, the proprietor's son refused to sleep in his room because he could hear someone moving around, and someone shouted his name in his ear.
