The Raven

George is the resident ghost and despite the name is sometimes referred to as "a grey lady". It is said to linger in the cellar near where a 'bottomless' well is located. A barman who lived on the top floor was awakened by the entrance hatch that "boomed open"; he never slept on the top floor again. Another time, Jill the landlady was narrowly missed by lots of glasses that fell from the bar.
