Mitcham Common

Between 1990 and 1992, a Mr Dow was taking a short cut in the vicinity of Seven Islands after a night shift, when he heard the sound of a bicycle approaching. When the cyclist reached him, he realised that the rider was a boy aged only about 7 years old, and was staring directly into Dow's eyes. He maintained this fixed gaze as he cycled past and then sped on, onto the surface of the water without sinking but now with no noise. The bike was all in white, as was the rider, and they both disappeared into the distance. It transpired that a young boy had drowned here in June 1939.
In the late 1970s/early 80s, a dark and very small and thin figure, no more than three feet tall has also been seen emerging from a bush near Seven Islands too.
