Donnington Castle

There are a number of reported phantoms here: a "Green Lady" who asks why the gates are closed; a white dog that disappears, heading for the tree line but never reaches it; "mysterious candlelight" seen in the castle at night; and a soldier who guards the gatehouse. In addition, a couple who were camping in the grounds heard a scream and when they investigated, saw an elderly Royalist soldier holding a woman in a headlock. When the campers were about to shout out in protest at the assault, the soldier growled at them - and then both characters vanished.
