Adelphi Theatre409-412 Strand, City of Westminster, London WC2R 0NS 020 3925 2998 In 1897, actor William Terriss was stabbed by a colleague, Richard Prince when he arrived here; Terriss has been seen dressed as a soldier, and has also been observed sporting a flowing tie and a sombrero. He has been seen in various areas, including the stage, the back entrance where he was killed, and in a dressing room (although the moving objects reported here may be due to another phantom here, Ivor Novello). The first sighting of the phantom is said to have been in 1928 in Maidens Lane. The dressing room used by Jessie Milward, Terriss' mistress has also been noted for poltergeist-like activity (this may be the room noted above, though). Link: Shady Old Lady |
