Bank Tube Station

A foul stench has sometimes been described here; it is thought to be a spectral remnant of the bodies that were once buried on the site (they were re-interred elsewhere). A worker once described knocking noises coming from inside a lift late at night; moments later the lift doors burst open. The ghost of Sarah Whitehead (see the entry for the Bank of England) may be the spectre of an old lady seen here. Some stories call her 'The Black Nun or 'The Bank Nun' and that she 'wails and groans' down the line.
