Liverpool Street Tube Station

Liverpool Street, City of London, London EC2M 7PP

The station is partially built on the site of Bedlam, the Bethlehem Royal Hospital which housed mentally ill patients. One of the inmates was said to be a lady that obsessively clutched a small coin, and went beserk whenever anyone tried to take if from her. When she died, it was taken from her and she was be buried without it. Consequently it is said that she returns as a shrieking phantom in the station. In addition, a worker went to investigate a man in white overalls near a tunnel. Although he saw nothing, the figure was still plainly visible on CCTV. There is also another story of "a man pacing up and down platforms seemingly without a purpose in the dead of night."
