Bleeding Heart Yard

The ghost of a Lady Elizabeth Hatton who was found "ripped limb from limb" but with her heart still beating haunts the yard where her body was found. Some reports say that she is seen dancing with a stranger, purported to be the devil himself. In actual fact, the yard was named after a nearby pub, The Bleeding Heart, whose sign showed the heart of the Virgin Mary pierced by five swords. Whether a ghost is actually seen is not known.
