The Dolphin Tavern

On 8th September 1915, a German airship on a raid dropped its incendiary cargo, and the resulting explosion destroyed the pub it and killing three people. The pub's clock stopped at the time of the explosion (10.40) and never worked again - when the pub was rebuilt, the clock was retained. It is said that the clock can sometimes be heard ticking.
