Burleighfield House

During renovations in 2005, workmen found that the previous day's work had been tampered with; whisperings and a cold hand being placed on someone's shoulder also added to the unease. A woman in black Victorian clothing haunts the house and garden too but it is said that she has not been seen for some time. She has also been seen standing by the entrance gates. A newspaper claims that there are two distinct female ghosts, one in black who stands by the gates looking towards White Hill, and another who walks down the stairs. The gates are the scene of a road accident many years ago when a horse-drawn coach is believed to have crashed into an icy pond at the bottom of White Hill, killing all onboard.
