A chambermaid named Meades is believed to be the phantom here in the old "Ivy House"; she apparently became pregnant by a member of the household and she was bricked up in the chimney of the house that once stood on the sight. She is said to be a young lady with blonde hair, all in white and seems to be mainly seen in the area of the stairs, the handrail of which she keeps spotlessly clean. Footsteps and other noises, taps being turned on and door opening and closing by themselves are also among the stories from this building. However, it would seem that nothing untoward has occurred recently.
Update 29/9/20: The company emailed me back with the following information, "The following story was passed on by one of our longer serving members of staff: The only recent events I know there are the ones accounted for by old members of staff, there was a receptionist who used to work here who swore blind the ghost of Mrs Mead tried to push her down the stairs while she was putting the star on the Christmas tree! That was probably five or six years ago now I think."
