The Eagle InnWater Street, Narberth, Pembrokeshire SA67 7AT 01834 860769 A little boy has been seen in the second floor flat above the pub, usually in the back bedroom and in the short corridor that linked the rooms. When she was a girl of about 4-5, the (later) landlady would ask her mother for 2 bags of crisps, 2 cans of pop etc - when she was asked why, the youngster replied that it was to share with the little boy upstairs. The sightings eventually faded away until the young girl, now an adult who ran the pub, became pregnant and the little boy started to make an appearance again. As the newborn baby grew up, the sightings again grew less and less frequent. The little boy is said to have been the son of the landlord many decades ago. When a fire broke out in the kitchen the landlord managed to escape, but the boy (who was in the bedroom at the back of the pub) was trapped and perished in the flames. Source: The Official Ghost Quest on Facebook Update 26/8/20: I contacted the pub via Facebook and was told, "The gent who lives upstairs has heard the bar stools moving in the middle of the night! I have also myself heard strange noises when the pub is closed, like whispering and footsteps when I know there is no one in the pub!" Paranormal researcher Greg Hardman emailed me and reported, "I investigated the Eagle a few years back and interviewed the young lady who ran the pub and her mother who was the landlady of the pub up the road. I also found the story in the County Records Office, of the boy who did indeed die in the fire, that had started in the kitchen downstairs where the toilets are now. A dark unwelcoming presence has also been felt & seen in that downstairs corridor." |
