St Mary The Virgin Church
Church End, Kensworth, Dunstable, Bedfordshire LU6 3RA

In the rear of the churchyard is situated a field, in which two ghosts are seen; one never leaves it, and is described as being an old lady who wears a black hat with four corners. She is said to walk down the path from the woods but when she reaches the stile she stops and waves her fist angrily at the church. Legend says that she is a witch who has forever been barred from God's premises. A decapitated ghostly milkmaid, carrying two pails on a yoke across her shoulders does however make her way into the churchyard before vanishing.
