The ghost of Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins is said to haunt this building.

Update: 15/3/20 Laura, the Manager at the pub tells me that, "I would say a few years back there was certain a few odd or unexplainable happenings. I don’t think I have experienced any recently, although, I’m not keen on being in the pub alone at night, I do feel that something is watching me sometimes!"
