The Fox

The ghosts here include a landlady named Mary Cook, and a woman with her two children; she is said to be particularly upset as her offspring are said to be dying and haven't been baptised. Another phantom is an 18th century soldier in a red coat with a long rifle over his shoulder, and holding a pistol. He is said to lurk near a bedroom door, but was also seen in the bedroom of the daughter of the landlords who said that he would turn and look her right in the eye. In addition, cold spots have been noted in the downstairs drawing room and in a bedroom (perhaps the one mentioned above?), dogs reacted aggressively at something unseen, items would fly through the air and the current landlady noticed a sensation similar to a hand brushing by her.
