St Mary's Church

The building is now a ruin and is no longer a functioning church but a spectral visitor is a man in motorcycle attire who has been seen in the grounds and even talked with one visitor. Within seconds, the cyclist could no longer be seen and there had been no sound of a motorcycle arriving or departing. This man has been identified as someone who died in a motorcycle crash nearby some years before. The witness was a photographer and she was sure that the mysterious man's crash helmet would have appeared in some of her pictures but when she checked her photos, it could not be seen.
A white horse was also seen on a bend near the church, causing a car to brake sharply. The horse rounded the bend - and seconds later was nowhere to be seen. There is also a report from a pair in a car on Great Lane seeing a horseback figure, likened to a monk and carrying a lantern and heading towards them on a collision course. The car braked, but the horse and its rider continued and then passed right through the car; there had apparently been quite a few sightings of this apparition surmised to be heading to Chicksands Priory via St Mary' Church.
There are numerous other reports too. While a team were filming here, a dark shape "much bigger than a human [came] racing towards [them] ... [and] something shoved the actress." There is also a story of a black hooded monk too; similar figures have been seen heading towards the church and chanting heard but at least some of these would seem to be living people, indulging in pranks ... or maybe Satanic ritutals?
