Queens Arms

In the mid 1980s, it was reported that the ghost of an Anglo-Saxon warrior had appeared in an indistinct photograph, taken in a corner of the bar. There were also said to be stories of heavy breathing in the cellar, two glasses full of beer exploding - and the ghost of former landlady Ruby Hitchcock who had passed away 15 years earlier in the pub; she had been seen four times in the upstairs area of the pub, wearing a black dress and silver collar. In one encounter, the ghost brushed past the (then) landlady Elizabeth Gane, forcing her to step aside.

Update 14/1/22: Norma, a worker at the pub, replied to my Facebook query for any recent phenomena: "We do have a few friends that love to play us up. when they are upset they can turn into a poltergeist and throw things around the pub. And some in the room om the top floors "
