St Peter's Church

Sightings have occurred here, usually in December, of a hooded figure approaching the church door and disappearing. People assume that he is a monk, but he may be a man in eleventh century garb; Walter Lacy, one of William the Conqueror's barons had given money to see the church built but he slipped and fell when he ascended the tower to inspect the progress of the building work.
