Wood End Lane
Wood End, Kempston, Bedfordshire MK43 9BW
A headless horse and rider have been seen galloping "madly" down the road. Local legend says that she is Elisabeth Snagge returning from a visit to her lover, when she lost her head due to a rope strung across the road by some thugs intent on robbery. Sometimes it is just the sound of galloping that is experienced by witnesses, or sometimes just a feeling of "a horse swishing past at speed." However, there are significant doubts as to the identity of the rider. It is possible that an exorcism has expelled the phantoms.
