Ye Olde Talbot

A young woman, aged about 20 years old and dressed in Quaker clothing, has been seen in and around room 11. She has been seen most often disappearing out of the window. Until the pub was refurbished in 2004, a phantom black cat was also seen in the hotel; it was seen mostly on the stairs and in the bar but was also observed in room 14 once, and there is a story that it too has visited room 11. It was most often seen between 10 and 10.30am and was described as looking like a bundle of steel wool that frightened the bartender's dog. In addition, a receptionist once reported a shadow in the cellar that crossed hers.
