Sidney Sussex College

Spooky noises and poorly defined figure were seen after a portrait of King Charles I was hung; Oliver Cromwell's head was buried in the college in secret and it is said it has been seen floating around; a detached eye accompanied by coldness and an unusual odour was also encountered. However, other reports say that accounts of these phenomena dried up after a seance in the 1960s. More recent accounts include heavy footsteps, a ghostly woman walking through a wall and bangs and thumps above the porter's lodge.
