The Coach House

The ghost of Henry Rich, First Earl of Holland is said to haunt this public house. He was held prisoner here after his troop of Royalist soldiers, which had camped in the market square in the hopes of joining a larger force in the morning, was instead captured by Roundheads. His phantom is said to be tall, in a long grey cloak and is normally seen in the main bar before heading into the courtyard. However, the pub seems to be quiet at present.
