Unexplained footsteps and "vague rumours" of a haunting are linked to this pub. There are suggestions that the ghost is John Reeve, the last abbot of Bury St Edmunds, although the pub's staff believe that he haunts the nearby ruins. It is said that, "A resident living opposite the pub claims to have seen a man in ecclesiastical robes close by."

Update 11/1/22: I emailed this hotel asking for any recent reports and received the following somewhat strange reply from David Ramsden: " Too whom it may concern. As much as we do believe we have an infestation of badly indented spirits we have a protocol to ignore their bad behaviour as this may result in extended attention seeking from there unclaimed dimensions. Whether its underworld, flat or cosmic. I'm afraid that we cannot afford another shift in their parameters as it may open up more portals too the less understood and also dangers of the Unkown. Hope you find another location to make a disturbance in the force, but our force is strong within."
