RAF Honington

A ghost, nicknamed "The Smoking Man" has been seen on the base; in one incident, a figure dressed in a World War 2 pilot's uniforms was seen smoking between two barbed wire fences. When personnel went to query his presence, he walked through the fence and faded away. It is speculated that the man was a pilot who was killed in the later years of World War 2 when his jet exploded. In addition, in the guard room, office chairs spin by themselves and a pile of paperwork "shuffled" to the edge of the desk before falling to the floor. There have also been tales of former air traffic controller on the airfield at night, and a mysterious, disappearing fog.
