The Bridge Inn

A lady in a pink crinoline dress was once seen standing by a telephone in a corridor leading to the staircase (the corridor has since been removed in a renovation); she was also seen drifting through the living room when a door opened by itself to admit her and then another opened obligingly on the other side of the room to allow her to exit! Another apparition has been seen in the bar - another lady, about 30 or 40 with "Long dark curly hair" and wearing clothes seemingly of the Victorian era. She walked the length of the bar into the new area of the pub but a search of the premises revealed no-one. Other contemporary phenomena include the door to the master bedroom opening - normally the door sticks and requires effort to open it; and taps to beer barrels being turned off. The latest report is that everything is quiet, apart from a few minor incidents (hand driers in the toilets activating by themselves, for instance).

Update 3/9/20: The pub responded to my Facebook message asking if anything had been reported recently. Shaun told me, "we have a lady in white that is rumoured to make an appearance and I personally have had an experience with the man in the boiler suit in the cellar when changing barrels in a deep raspy voice a shadow asked me who I was. Actually terrified me [!]. The bridge inn is linked to the old smugglers tunnels and sometimes strange noises can be heard in the cellar." The report of the man in the boiler suit was new to me, so I inquired further: "As far as I am aware from a medium who came to visit a while back is that he's a short stocky older gentleman who must of been the old cellar man other than that I don't really know much. I haven't heard if a lady in pink but there's a lady in white who used to be an old Bed and Breakfast landlady if you will before the pub chopped and changed she wears a flowing white gown I can hear her coming up and down the stairs at night when I'm in bed...Oh I’ve definitely had someone playing tricks on me when line cleaning turning the gas off."
