Ely CathedralMinster Place, Ely, Cambridgeshire CB7 4DL 01353 667735 A monk (or monks) has been seen in the north triforium, the old stained glass museum site and the 14th century choir stalls. Other monks have been seen in the grounds on the lawn near the gate and other locations in and near the cathedral. An "unpleasant" monk with no face has been reported in the deanery, as have unexplained footsteps. Meanwhile, in the Cathedral Prior's House, the ghost of Etheldreda is said to persist; she founded the monastery in the 7th century. It is said that her "blue coloured hand" runs up and done the banister of the rear staircase. Meanwhile, a ghostly priest and a nun carrying a candle are also to be seen here.
