About 1820, strange noises at the nunnery were rife; windows and doors that had been bolted at night were found open in the morning, mysterious noises were heard and uncanny things (assumed to be bats) flitted about. The next mention was in 1983 when the building was said to be alive with poltergeist activity, with linen being ripped up and left in a heap in the master bedroom, things flying off tables, the sound of children laughing during a dinner party, lights flickering and a picture frame being flung off the wall. Lights that had been turned off were seen reactivated when my correspondent was heading home up the driveway. There were also rumours of a phantom nun. Latest phenomena (as of 2023) at the premises seems to be very low-key; an invisible hand that was placed on an employer's hand when using the computer mouse; the sound of friendly laughter from the direction of the library; a framed photo and an empty cafetiere flipping onto the floor; and windows opening by themselves and televisions turning on and off.
