A woman in an "old-fashioned cloak" was noted floating past the area between the door and the toilet. The pub dog also reacts to something invisible, refusing to pass part of the landing and barking at something that could not be seen; however, this behaviour soon subsided. There have also been cold spots noted near the entrance, and doors in the cellar slam or are found unaccountably locked. The village also has a hooded spectre, known as "The Barford Monk" who appears in front of vehicles, but when the driver gets out to check, no-one is there.
