An old man was sometimes seen seated in the corner, while glasses launched off the shelves and smashed from time to time.

Update: 3/12/2025: In reply to my email query about recent phenomena, Tabbie, a worker at the pub told me, "I'm not surprised The Three Horseshoes is on your list people are always telling us of entities. Personally I have never experienced anything and it's mostly me left alone here downstairs in the dark but I can tell you since moving in, in June [2025] I have felt explicitly welcome and the atmosphere is the most homely I have ever experienced. I recently showed a "spooky" friend around and he said there is allsorts, noting a priest walked past us in the back dining room. A lady on her visit recently said there was "ghosts" walking among us and we were simply passing through them in the main bar area. The Butcher has been seen many times but not during my time here. I thought I briefly saw someone matching the description out of the corner of my eye outside but when I looked again the figure was gone. The pub hasn't always exclusively been a pub and was an abbatoire for a time. The Butcher is named and is buried in the cemetery next door. When we first moved in my husband heard footsteps upstairs on a number of consecutive nights. I asked the house politely to be quiet and we haven't heard anything since. My four year old said that there is a shadow that can't see him, but he can see it, downstairs in the pub. But he wasn't afraid and after asking the house to be quiet he hasn't mentioned anything else. The previous landlady said there was a number of ghosts that she was very fond of and she asked them if they wanted to leave with her when she left. But yes, people mention things all the time. I am local even before living here and it's the general consensus that it's a very "active" site but with a really beautiful vibe. It is said that there's a little boy spirit downstairs but I haven't spoken to anyone that has experienced him or experienced him myself. The land is ancient with settlements dating back much further than the pub itself. Roman artifacts have been found on the land among other very old old coins ... But other staff members have never said anything about experiences. Just that you never feel alone in the building, even when you are. Like there's a telly left on in another room somewhere."
