Navigation Street

The ghost of PC William Lines, who walked this beat and died in 1875 has apparently been seen in this street. He died when he and a colleague were alerted to a member of a gang who had ransacked a local pub. When the miscreant was arrested, others from the gang attacked the policeman and Lines was stabbed although his colleague PC Fletcher survived.
