A spectral women haunts this pub and its cellars - she is said to be a woman who committed suicide after she was jilted when her husband to be had an affair. Her presence is said to be heralded by a dramatic drop in temperature, and the pub dog would react to something invisible in the cellar by snarling. It is said that in this area a phantom puppy would be say and interact with people before running away. A lady in a high-necked, old-fashioned dress has been seen looking out of the windows, too.
